Revolutionary new local anesthesia injection system producing pain free dentistry.
The WAND is a computer controlled local anesthetic injection system that helps conquer fear, pain and anxiety. A microprocessor controls the flow rate/volume ratio to make sure safe, almost painless profound anesthesia.
The WAND – in short – conquers the pain and anxiety of injections, creating pain free dentistry.
The microprocessor inside “The WAND” automatically ensures a steady flow rate regardless of tissue density. Constant, slow flow is one key to almost pain-free injections.
The computer provides a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This creates a pathway of anesthesia so you hardly feel the needle at all.
The Wand The source of discomfort for most injections, however, isn’t the needle, it’s the flow of the anesthetic into your tissue. The WAND delivers the anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection.
It is even held like a pen! Using the Wand is very enjoyable for the operator (that is, the dentist) because it is so light and easy to handle. To start the computer, the dentist uses a foot-pedal connected to the computer tower. The computer does the rest. That way, the operator can focus all attention on holding the hand-piece in the right position.
The cartridge holder, tube and wand hand piece are all single-use disposables.
A “cool blue” “safety” wand hand piece with a self-retracting needle is also available . The safety feature is there to prevent dental staff from accidentally poking themselves while getting rid of used hand-pieces. However, most dentists prefer the “standard” wand on the left, because they find it easier to handle.
