Is Wisdom Tooth removal necessary?
Wisdom teeth extraction may be required when there’s a lack of space for them to grow properly. Wisdom teeth can become impacted, causing potential dental issues like difficulty opening your mouth, swelling, crowding, earache, and infection. Ideally, wisdom teeth are removed before the roots are fully formed and these problems occur. The ideal age is between 17 and 25; however, they can be removed at any age. It’s important to note that not everyone requires wisdom tooth removal.

Initial Assessment
X-rays of your wisdom teeth are taken, so that we can assess, diagnose and address your wisdom teeth immediately.
Sedation
Local Anaesthetic, Sedation with Happy Gas ( Nitrous Oxide), or General Anaesthetic is given.
Treatment
The tooth is carefully removed, the socket is rinsed to clear away remaining infection, and in some cases, sutures are placed to aid healing.
When Is Wisdom Tooth Removal Neccessary?
- Your gums are inflamed.
- You have pain and/or swelling.
- There is a bad taste in your mouth.
- When it causes stiffness in your jaw.
- Your lymph glands swell below your jaw.
- You have a fever or other general malaise stemming from the wisdom tooth.
